As the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic continues to evolve, our priority at Tots n Teens Pediatrics is the health and safety of our patients. Keeping in mind the guidance from our public health officials recommending social distancing and our goal of continuing to care for our patients in a safe and effective manner, we are doing TELEHEALTH.
***Your child can be seen in the comfort of your home via video and audio. ***
Tots n Teens Pediatrics is now offering Telehealth to all our established patients.
Telehealth - using your home computer, smartphone or tablet with a camera and secure internet connection - is the preferred method to conduct a visit with your provider. This service is also available after hours and weekends so you do not have to leave your home.
We at Tots n Teens Pediatrics would like your children to stay healthy in this time of turbulence and social distancing. Our office is still open to serve your children –we are scheduling well visits in the mornings and sick visits in the afternoon. However, for everyone’s protection, we ask you to call us from your car if your child has fever and cough and we will triage the child.
This will be effective as long as our community is under lock down. All Insurance related copay, deductible and/or coinsurance applicable for these online visits will apply.
Please call us at 919-362-7155 and leave a message about your child and the reason for calling and if you would like to be seen by Telehealth.
We all are anxious about Corona virus (also known as COVID-19) and our possible exposure to the virus and measures to take to prevent it. We, at Tots n Teens Pediatrics want you to know about how we are handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beginning 3/16/20, we are scheduling all our well checks in the mornings.
Those who are sick are triaged over phone while they are in the parking lot --if they meet certain criteria, they will be seen in the car and necessary testing done. If they don't meet the criteria , then they are brought into the office for assessment.
How to work together?
We ask that you -- please bring only the child that is sick to the office; do not bring others. One parent / caregiver per child. If possible, do not send an elderly caregiver (over 60 year) with the sick child.
When we think of Covid -19, there are 2 aspects to it as outlined below:
Personal Safety: the vast majority of people infected by COVID-19,specially children , will have mild illness. However, they can be carriers and transmit the infection to others.
Community responsibility: the CDC and Health Department are trying to limit spread, or at least slow it down. Self-quarantine, containment areas and social distancing are being implemented for these purposes.
Ways to protect yourself and your little ones and others
Wash hands with soap and water for 15-20 seconds frequently, specially after you go out and come back in to your house.
Don't touch your face
Limit going to places with other people, such as gym, parties, grocery store , etc
Practice social distancing -- don't hug , kiss , shake hands
We at Tots n Teens Pediatrics are committed to keeping our patients and their family healthy and safe. We disinfect our office in between patients and at the end of the day.
